It is a huge step up from the original Minecraft, but one of the great things about Minecraft is that it could run anywhere. This version loses that aspect.

No, there are no better alternatives. Minecraft has long been a stand-alone in the market, beating out other competitors. The other option is to stick with the non-RTX game or grab some shader packs for Minecraft.

It is a great improvement to the application and is worth picking up. The only downside is the high standard of graphics necessary to power the game.
